Mine vehicles, both surface and underground, operate under prolonged high loads. For example, at a coal mine in Southeast Asia, multiple flameproof trackless rubber‑tyred vehicles were customised with a water‑based fire suppression system. The spray points and piping layout in the engine compartment were optimised. While effectively solving early‑stage oil fires and localised smouldering fire safety hazards in the engine compartment, the system perfectly adapted to the enclosed, humid conditions underground, and was subsequently accepted and approved by the mine safety department.
