In the field of mining extraction and heavy machinery operations, vehicle fires are often characterized by sudden onset, rapid spread, and extreme difficulty in firefighting. GMfire understands that fire risks vary significantly across different operating environments. Therefore, we have abandoned the traditional "one-size-fits-all" fire protection approach and fully implemented a "one-vehicle, one-strategy" customized fire suppression system, dedicated to providing precise, efficient, and tailored safety protection for both open‑pit and underground mining vehicles.
The core of our customized design lies in the precise assessment of each vehicle's internal structure and the spatial dimensions of the protected areas. For large open‑pit mining equipment such as haul trucks and articulated dump trucks, the engine compartments and hydraulic systems are spacious and continuously exposed to harsh conditions of high temperature, high dust, and strong vibration. GMfire's design team conducts on‑site surveys to custom‑design high‑flow nozzles and long‑distance delivery piping, ensuring that the extinguishing agent thoroughly covers all critical areas. At the same time, both detectors and nozzles are manufactured with high‑strength, vibration‑resistant materials and dust‑proof designs, guaranteeing stable operation even under extreme jolts and shocks.
For underground mining vehicles—such as jumbo drills, roof support carriers, and monorail hoists—the internal spaces are extremely compact and pose additional threats from flammable and explosive gases like methane and coal dust. Our layout strategy adopts compact, modular designs, integrating small‑sized thermal detectors and nozzles into narrow gaps without occupying operational space, while still achieving precise protection. Furthermore, in response to the underground flammable and explosive environment, the system can be equipped with passive, non‑electric designs. All electrical components used in underground systems undergo rigorous intrinsically safe explosion‑proof treatment, fundamentally eliminating the risk of secondary explosions caused by electrical sparks.
When it comes to the selection of extinguishing agents and the adaptation of functional models, GMfire likewise adheres to a "right remedy for the right condition" principle. For oil‑based fires in conventional fuel‑powered vehicles, we deploy ultrafine dry powder or water‑based extinguishing agents, which achieve rapid cooling and oxygen‑isolation fire suppression through atomized spray. For new‑energy mining vehicles and precision electronic control cabinets, we primarily recommend perfluorohexanone extinguishing agent. This agent offers excellent dielectric properties, extinguishing incipient‑stage fires within seconds, and leaves no residue, is non‑conductive, and causes no secondary damage to sensitive instruments.
With this tailored vehicle fire suppression system, GMfire has successfully extended its protection network to LHDs, explosion‑proof trackless rubber‑tyred vehicles, mining dump trucks, and a wide range of heavy construction machinery. We have not only effectively reduced the rate of vehicle fire incidents but also saved mining enterprises from substantial potential equipment losses. Looking ahead, GMfire will continue to build upon its customized technology foundation, providing an indestructible "fire‑fighting armor" for all types of heavy vehicles in both coal and non‑coal mining operations.
